Working with babies and families has always been a calling for our founder, Lorena Terán. Her journey began in Panama, where she opened an interactive indoor children's park built around early childhood connection and play.

After moving to Colorado, Lorena worked at a Goddard School, where she first discovered the role of doulas and the difference continuous support makes for growing families. She then ran a licensed home child care program in Parker, Colorado for six years, caring for infants and young children every day.

In 2017, Lorena discovered prenatal psychology, the study of how experiences in the womb shape a baby's development. It changed the way she supports families, and it became the foundation of our work in prenatal bonding and womb ecology.

Today, Babies Under My Wings has grown into a family-led practice. Lorena, her daughters, and her sister are all trained doulas, and together they support families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and early parenthood, in person and online.
