Lorena Terán is the founder of Babies Under My Wings, a family-centered practice dedicated to supporting parents and babies through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. As a birth and postpartum doula, Lorena has always felt a natural calling to work with babies and families.

Her journey began in Panama, where she opened an interactive indoor children’s park focused on early childhood connection and play. After moving to Colorado, Lorena continued following her passion for supporting children and families by running a licensed home childcare program in Parker, Colorado for six years.

While working at a Goddard School, Lorena was introduced to the world of doulas during a continuing education session. She immediately connected with the philosophy of compassionate, family-centered support and began training extensively in labor doula care, postpartum support, lactation education, pregnancy fitness, and newborn care.

In 2017, Lorena discovered prenatal psychology, which quickly became a deep passion in her work. Understanding how experiences in the womb shape early development brought a new depth to the way she supports babies and parents.

Today, Babies Under My Wings has grown into a family-led practice offering doula services, lactation support, classes, consultations, and parent support groups. Lorena and her daughters—who are also trained doulas—support families in both English and Spanish, working with parents locally and around the world through in-person and virtual care.

Their mission is simple: to provide loving, knowledgeable support so babies and families feel nurtured, confident, and cared for from the very beginning.
